Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is an English singer-songwriter born May 21, 1988 in Tottenham, North London, England. She began singing at the day of four and credits the Spice Girls for which she's today. Growing up, the lady group would have been a huge relation to her love for music. Adele finished BRIT School in Croydon in May of 2006. Leona Lewis was a classmate of hers. Originally, Adele was thinking about work in A&R. After recording a 3 song demo, she gave the recordings into a friend who then posted her work on MySpace. Her music received much positive attention and led to a phone call from music label XL Recordings. Doubting the legitimacy with the offer, Adele brought her friend with her to the meeting. The offer turned out to be legit and Adele was signed to the label in September 2006.

Adele When We Were Young

Her debut song "Hometown Glory" was launched in October 2007. Adele wrote the song when she was just 16 yrs . old. She took over as the first recipient of the BRIT Awards Critics' Choice and it was named the number-one predicted breakthrough act of 2008. Her second single "Chasing Pavements" peaked at number 2 for the UK Charts and remained there for 4 weeks. Her album 19 was launched in 2008 and entered the charts at number 1.

Later that year, Adele signed a joint venture cope with Columbia Records and XL Recordings for her jump in the U.S. In June of 2008, Adele released her album inside the U.S. after a short North American tour in March. It turned out certified gold last year. In 2008, Adele canceled an american tour to become having a former boyfriend. She stated in Nylon magazine that "I was drinking far too much knowning that was sort of the premise of my relationship with this boy. I couldn't bear to get without him, i really was like, 'Well, OK, I'll terminate my stuff then... I can't believe Used to that... It seems so ungrateful". November of 2008 she moved away from her mother's house and gave up drinking. Once October 2008 came around, it seemed Adele's US career had failed. She was then booked with an episode of Saturday Night Live. Due to guest Sarah Palin, the show drew in 17 million viewers and sky-rocketed her album 19 to the peak the iTunes chart in the morning. A few days of October 26, her album rose to number 11 for the Billboard 200.

With the 51st Grammy Awards, Adele won awards for Best New Artist and finest Female Pop Vocal Performance and nominated for Record of the Year and Song of this year. She was also nominated for three Brit Awards inside the types of Best British Female, Best British Single and Best British Breakthrough Act.

Adele When We Were Young

Adele released her second album 21 this season. The album's sound is referred to as contemporary roots and new bands. She has declared that it is because her bus driver would play contemporary Nashville music while touring from the American South. She told Spin Magazine, "He heard this all amazing country music and we'd rock out shortly before bedtime, chain smoking and listening to Rascal Flatts. It was really exciting to me since i never grew up around [that music]." The album peaked at #1 in Ireland, Germany, Holland, Nz, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium. In March 2011, it debuted #1 in the usa. After her BRIT awards performance in February 2011, her single "Someone Like You" went straight to number 1 for the UK Singles Chart. To advertise her album Adele will do in Europe and North America on her Adele Live tour. At the time of April 2011, she's sold the most albums of artists this season in the usa, with sales totaling over 1,070,000.

Adele proceeded to obtain a Mercury Prize nomination, 3 MTV Video Music Awards, three Guinness World Records, 4 American Music Award nominations, the MOBO Award for the most powerful R&B/soul act, 2 Q Awards and 3 Soul Train Award nominations this year. She also released a music video on her hit single 'Someone Like You' plus a DVD - Live in the Royal Albert Hall.
