Book: The Master Butcher's singing club

Review: This was a good book, although the author seemed to not know quite where to end it.  Both the characters and the setting were interesting.  The Butcher's wife, and mother of three children dies of cancer, and the description of the treatment and end stage is quite poignant.  The story intersects with a woman who has become a circus performer with her husband, but returns home to find that her drunk father has had something unspeakable happen in their home.
