Book: A high and hidden place
Author: Michele Claire
Review: I thought from the desciption that this would be a great story. An orphan girl raised by nuns after Germans destroyed her village during World War 2. She starts having flashbacks, after seeing the footage of Kennedy being shot, and returns home to find out that she had been lied to about her family dying of Influenza. As I stated, this is all a great plot, but the execution was sub-par. The author keeps flashing back to the girl's village on the day of the attack. The problem is that she does so several times, and keeps repeating what had happened. The girls story would have been interesting enough without all the backfill, maybe the book could make an ok movie. I am sure there were a lot of places like her village that were wiped out and forgotten about during the war.
