4/6/2006 - Roland Garros 2006 Rd3: Nadal v Paul Henri-Mathieu 5-7,6-4,6-4,6-4
ok.i shall account for the later game first, for Daniela has inspired me too much yesterday.so i shall start with the Nadal match. First of all, it was 4 hours and 55 minutes long, and it was the hardest ever Nadal had to play on clay. He could so easily have been eliminated, yeah as i watched from the 2nd set after coming back from Parkway at around 0000, i could see Mathieu was not the pushover i thought him to be, he was strong, his shot selection was near perfect, in fact he lost because he marginally missed his strokes, and Nadal made some wonderous passing shots. But really, i was shocked at how Mathieu was in the game, he was even controlling it at some stage. But Nadal just drove on, the crowd was restless with the line-calls all going against the frenchman Mathieu. But the calls were justified. So its 56 consecutive victories on clay for Rafael Nadal, and it was a difficult one really. It was a long match billed at one stage to beat the record set by Fabrice Santoro and his opponent in the 1st round in Roland Garros years ago. Santoro is really a man of long matches and 5 sets, i remember he played 2 in Australia this year and lost in the 1st round here in 5 sets!! amazing and uncanny haha. So Nadal must be tired now, its Hewitt in the 4th Round tommorow, and he breezed in the 3rd Round in straight sets, it all boils to a great game tommorow.
The day yesterday ended about 0700 so i had to blog later, it was a rush to parkway at 2000 when i said ill meet them at 1830 then 1930 but i simply could not leave the Daniela match. i played pool and lost all 3 games, was a tad rusty today, they are improving man, Ashiq was pro haha. before that i was wasting my time at home although i supposed to study since i had a family outing to sentosa in the morning lol. whatever, i damn sian. somemore today went to church come back and im wasting time again, should go and do work later haha.
