10/6/2006 - Roland Garros 2006 SF: Rafael Nadal v Ivan Ljubicic 6-4,6-2,7-6
ok, since today i woke up at 1430 and pretty much spent my whole day at home, firstly watching Star Wars Episode II and going gaga over Natalie Portman again. Its been the tennis followed by the world cups haha. So its going to be like match reports haha. So, a very long match for Rafael Nadal but he came through to claim his 59th straight victory, booking a match with Federer, who had a walkover from Nalbandian in the middle of the 3rd set and will be looking for win number 60. It will be a tough match, and Nadal will be slight favourite, but Federer is getting better on clay. I dont knw why but tennis fascinates me at slams, even soccer cant beat tennis at slams!! lol..and yeah today is England v Paraguay at 2100, and the women final Justine v Svetlana at around 2000, and on sunday is the mens final Roger and Rafael at 2000 and then Silverstone at 2000 as well as the world cup matches..its coupled with the exams coming up for a busy schedule, havent managed my time wisely so ts time to shape up, was scary that day went to Toa Payoh Library and saw how much is left to do. Yeah im going at 1000 today to try and do it as well so that must take some doing now its 0600 and i will try though hehe...
Today was the start of the World Cup as well, Germany impressively opening with a 4-2 win, they look confident, the crowd look happy, Phillip Lahm looked magnificant, bagging the 1st goal of the tournament as a Left-back!! Amazing 6 goals in a opening match, a record. haha, if i have something to say though, German defence needs repairing, Costa Rica's Paulo Wanchope bagging 2 goals!! haha, the group looks like its going to be Ecuador and Germany at this stage, as Poland looked doomed after their 0-2 loss to Ecuador later. It meant that if Poland lose to Germany next 2 losses would effectively be a premature exit. Ecuador proeved critics wrong with a win outside their Quito high altitude home fortress, where they were unbeaten in the qualifiers to reach the world cup. Ecuador looking good, the host nation looks good for now, Costa Rica has got hope still as they still face Ecuador, a must win for them, and Poland must get a draw at least v Germany, or its au revoir, which is highly likely. Amidst my mum intervening with all her nonsense and stuff, and whatever im going to try and fulfill my promise to be puntual tommorow, its to England v Paraguay tommorow and good night to all!! or should i say good morning =)
