MEMORIES OF GRANDPA'S BIG OLD BED.

I was raised on a farm in the foothills of a big

mountain range and in the winter it was very

cold and the icicles would hang from the roof

over our beds. So it was always a competition

between my brothers and I who was going to

snuggle up in Grandpa's bed, His bed was a

big old iron bed with a capoc matress and it

was so soft and warm and when you lied in

the bed you sunk into the matress and you felt

like you were sleeping on the clouds. Such a

simple pleasure on a cold frosty night.

GRANDPA'S BIG BED.

Oh! for the soft oozy feel of Grandpa's big

old bed. A place of warm special feelings

gone by, The thick frost lay out on the

ground and not a move from that big soft

bed did I make, so cosy so warm, protected

from the cold.

How nice it would be, to have Grandpa's bed

for a retreat, in times of stress, worry and

cold. But alas! Grandpa's bed is no more to

be found, long gone, and now Grandpa lies

in his big bed in the clouds with sweet Angels.

Wonderful how memories of yesteryear and

days of yore can come into your mind and

give you comfort when you feel a little fragile.
