TIME TO SAY GOODBYE AND SOLONG!

The Commonwealth Games came to a close tonight with great fanfare and lots of absolutely gorgeous fireworks. Prince Edward closed the games and invited all the nations to assemble in Delhi India in 2010.There was the usual host of speakers like our Premier of Victoria, our Lord Mayor of Melbourne, delegates From India and the Commonwealth. The Prime Minister of Great Britain and his wife were present also. Dame Edna Everage put in an appearance via satellite from the United States of America. (She is a comedian in drag quiet funny...Real name Barry Humphries) She said America was trying to work out why they HAD NOT been invited to put in an appearance at the games but then she said Americans DON'Teven know where Australia is (I'M NOT SURE SHE IS ENTIRELY RIGHT ON THIS SCORE)and she would have to educate them or something along those lines. It will be the first time India has had the honour of holding the games in their country and I think they will do a good job. They promise to put on a good show and say the Commonwealth will not be disappointed. If what they showed tonight is any guide they will not disappoint anyone. So long to all the wonderful sportsmen and women, good luck in all future endeavours. Tomorrow there will be a tic a tape parade through the City of Melbourne for all the athletes of all countries. Hope the wonderful autumn weather WE'VE been having for the last 10 days holds up for the parade
