I have decided to write a little ditty about the Australian greeting

G’day Mate.

G = GREAT TO SEE YOU MATE!

D = DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER MATE

A = ANOTHER BLOODY DAY HAS ARRIVED MATE

Y = YESTERDAY IS DEAD AND BURIED MATE

MY OATH MATE

SHE’LL BE RIGHT MATE

TOO BLOODY RIGHT MATE

NO WORRIES MATE?

Slanguage

I may not be an Aussie, but I'm still bushytailed.

I'd make a great cobber who would always be dinkum.

I can be quite the earbasher when I'm full as a boot, but as of right now I'm off the grog but I still hack it when my friends drink.

When in the shit I tend to make Jingoes.

I'd never lag on a mate, unless he's a total nong!

I'm good to my oldies, but otherwise a piker. (I'd never tell the Ol' Cheese to rack off.)

I need a new pair of sunnies but all my money goes to tucker.

And if I ever went on a walkabout I'd almost certainly find myself up a gum tree!
