AUSSIE SLANG FOR DUTCH BOY!

Hello Dutchboy, I have added another lot of
Aussie lingo/slang. It has been fun trying to
remember all these. One hears them all the
time and even uses them but for some reason
when you sit down to write them you kind of
flounder around before they come back to
your recall. There's so many and I have only
touched the surface of our colourful lingo.
If you want to learn more just let me know
and I will do my best to post them. I've taken
to jotting them down if I hear them or say
them myself. Please enjoy reading them.

& South Australians.

Piker = Someone who doesn't want to
 it in with others socially, leaves parties early.

Pash = A long passionate kiss ;
hence pashing on.??

Rip snorter & Ripper. =
Great, fantastic- It was a rip snorter of a
party or a ripper party.

You little ripper =
Exclamation of delight as a
reaction to good news.

Ridgy-didge = original, genuine, true.

Sand groper = A person from Western Australia.

Yobbo = An uncouth person, rude.

Yakka = Work.

Hard Yakka = Very hard work.

Zack = (sixpence) 5 cents,
it isn't worth a zack, he hasn't got a zack.

Wowser = straight-laced person,
prude, puritan, spoilsport.

To many kangaroos loose in the top paddock =
Mad, intellectually inadequate, nuts
("he's got to many kangaroos
loose in the top paddock")
