Sad news indeed.

I was also saddened to hear about it.

He was so full of life, I will miss his legendary "Crikey!", somehow it made my cold Saturday morning in London feel a bit warmer.

So very sad

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the 'Breaking News' strip running on the Sky News screen this morning. My other half rang me from work before I could ring him: we can't stop thinking about him. Steve Irwin was one of our heroes and he certainly made me change my preconceptions about some of the 'scariest' forms of wildlife. I have never met him but I will miss him terribly - there was hardly a day in my house when a repeat of one of his programmes wasn't on the TV screen, and Lovely Man would call me 'come and look at the coccodrillo!'
I went past a charity shop at lunchtime, saw a cuddly crocodile on the window and had to buy him: we have named him 'Crikey', in Steve's memory.
Rest in peace, mate.
