THE HARP.Yesterday when I went to my writing group in U3A, we were asked to write a little verse on a musical instrument that has been around a very long time. We only had a few minutes to come up with this master piece and what is printed below is my effort. I find it a challenge to write poems although I like the idea of trying to be a bit of a scribe. I will never be a poets boot lace but that doesn't matter because it wasn't my calling but it doesn't stop me from trying to put a few words into verse. THE HARP Beautiful walls draped in silk, Windows framed in lace, Frame of gold Regal beauty, Strings of gentle sound, Dulcet tones to the ear, Genteel lady so refined, With elegant hands, Of gentle caress, Sitting there playing, The frame of gold, Cherubs come and Cherubs dance, All in a timeless trance. ~~Written by Dawn M 2006.~~ 12:57 - Tuesday, October 10, 2006 - post comment
