"OUR COUNTRY HARSH AND UNFORGIVING AT TIMES."

It was a lovely coolish day here today;

First time in 3 weeks I haven’t needed my air conditioner working,

So it got a bit of a rest.

Have my fan working though as I love cool breezes.

It will be Autumn in three days time,

Which will be ever so lovely, my favourite time of year.

Every thing is so parched, arid and dry to the bone,

And looks half dead anyway,

So I don’t know that the change to Autumn will be very noticeable.

The countryside is very desperate, for rain... 

And a lot of bush in the high country,

Has been burnt to a crisp along with wild life and farm animals,

So sad... But that’s our Country. 

A land of droughts and flooding rains. A wide brown land.

Always has been a harsh unforgiving land at times,

But I wouldn’t trade her to live anywhere else because this land has

A beautiful smell, You can smell the change of seasons and you can smell,

The coming of Easter and Christmas it has a distinctive beautiful smell

and you can here it rustling in the gum leaves.

Believe me it’s magic.

It seems like just yesterday that you posted the lovely "spring is almost upon us" photo and now the pendulum has swung back and it's our turn. I know (thanks mostly to you and not the us media) that you've had a rough summer and was wondering how things were. Thanks for the update.
