Every time I hear that there's another toy recall, I believe to myself - you have to be kidding! How can these dangerous toys even get to the shelves and at your fingertips in our curious children to begin with? Did the makers understand that they were potentially harmful? Are there qc measures to make sure this doesn't happen?
Personally, i know a sweet lady who's a parent of three young girls. After i was visiting together with her one day, I noticed pictures of just a little boy around the walls and asked who it had been. She told me it had been her son who'd died at age three whenever a toy got stuck in the throat. His father had tried desperately to remove the lodged toy, but his attempts were fruitless, and also the child succumbed. I was horrified and can only imagine how much they both suffered from this sad experience.
It is not easy to look at our children every minute, but we are able to make every make an effort to remove any toys that could do harm from those that they have fun with every single day. Your kids also may receive toys as presents from well-meaning family members and friends for birthdays and holidays. How will you be sure that the toys you've in your house are secure for your kids?
Another suggestion is to focus on age tips about toys. They're placed on the packages for a reason. You may think your son or daughter now has wrinkles enough to play with a toy that is designed for a mature child, but toys with small or removable parts can cause injuries or asphyxiation. Some older kids also still like to put things within their nose, ears and mouths, so you are the most useful judge to know what is suitable for them.
If your toy is broken, it is advisable to throw it away immediately. Be familiar with what is inside your toy box. If tiny or broken pieces of toys are present, clean them out.
If your little one gets to be a toy as a present or you have obtained one that they wanted, you should attempt difficult to break it (do not do it in front of the child, however). If you can yank around the stuffed toys eyes and they're loose, they could appear and get lodged within the child's throat. Attempt to consider ways that your son or daughter could use it and test to find out if the toy will fall apart. You can also test all toy gifts since they were not given with the intention to harm the kid. It is best to be safe than sorry.
