Living in the Pacific NW, you would think that water would not be an issue. I mean, it rains here 9 months out of the 12, and it isnt a matter of "is it going to rain"...but "will it rain all day, or only a portion of the day". Not to mention the creeks running through the property, and the river that I can almost see from my yard. No, usually the water issues here are more the issue of how to channel it away from the house, and what to do with all the excess. But, living in the country is always an adventure. People in towns dont have to think about how their water gets to the house or leaves the house, unless they want to think about it. Out here in the country, sometimes whether we want to think about it or not, there it is...hollering out "ok, time to make your life interesting!" So, theres a well, which somehow is connected to the under the house (that part is a mystery to me), living under the house is a pressure tank which in turn is connected to the hot water heater (also under the house, on the ground...what were they thinking?). The pressure tank has its very own circuit box...I think that must make the pressure tank feel very important, as for some reason the pressure tank seems to enjoy the game of "lets blow out the circuit box and drive the humans crazy". Yesterday I thought the water pressure was strange, but not overly so...it fluxuates alot as we share the well with the neighbors up the hill, depends on who is using how much water as to how much pressure there is. Last night the neighbor came down saying he had no water, we gotta look at whats going on. Ever notice how things like that always take place in the dark? Under the house everyone goes with flashlights, hmm, no leakage, circuit box seems happy, no way to tell about the pressure tank, since if there is no water in it, it wouldnt run anyway. Out from under the house, hike through the wet yard over to the well, hmm, looks alright (though I wouldnt know how to tell, lucky the neighbor is a retired plumber). So everything looked ok on this end, neighbor hiked off to check the Rube Goldberg set up of pipes, pvc, tripods, etc that runs water from here up the hill to his house. This morning I do have water, enough to make my coffee anyway, no telling what the neighbor has up top. I am sure I will find out soon, if they cant make their coffee! May have to replace that circuit box, and it certainly would not be the first time that the pressure tank had fun with us in that fashion! At least I have a well that produces though, my friend a couple of miles up the road has been drilling for months, no artesian to tap into anywhere on that 10 acres, and my other friend a mile down from me is on a side road where none of the houses have operable wells, they work with a rain collecting cistern that needs supplementing in the summer with truckloads of water. It's all the flow of life (yes, I meant to pun there), recieving, releasing, and utilizing the gifts in between, and I think I am glad to have the personal connection with water out here in the country to keep me grounded in the flow. blessings on your day |

thank you to mom and dad, for encouraging me to think and never stop learning. While there are some big issues in my life that I cant seem to (yet!) figure out, I am gladdened at the solving of little annoyances. Figured out the password deal, and started taking baby steps in css editing...lol, changed titles of friends section and links section...dont laugh too hard, I said they were baby steps, hehe. For now, lovely daughter wants a turn at the computer, so my play time is done for now, at least on here. Off to my knitting, as soon as I get new batteries for the camera, I can start posting pics of my knitting journey, and some art pieces. blessings on your day |

yay, I figured out how to log in again! something got tweaked, and I couldnt log into my account and after trying numerous times, hollering for help in the forum, clearing history and cookies, thought, hmmm...maybe request a new password. yep, that did the trick. Now to figure out how to manually set a password that I can remember, lol! Busy trying to pull together birthday parties for the kiddos. they are 3 years apart in age, but their birthdays come a week apart, yikes what was I thinking? boy child is a St Patrick's Day boy, girl child is a week after. I was so happy when they grew a little and I didnt have to pull together kid parties anymore, but that span of time was all too brief, now they are teenagers and all of a sudden parties are the thing to do again...at least now I dont have to come up with all the games anymore! Now it's merely the co-ordinating of bowling alley, sleep over, midnight salad bar, etc. Thank you to admin for popping in and opening up editing for me, that was kind, I havnt been here long, so thought it would be presumptuous for me to ask so soon! Now, learning css will be the next challenge, so I know where to tweak blessings on your day |

now I see....privacy comes with a price! lol. was befuddled at how I could make password protected posts, and finally clicked on upgrade since that was the only thing I hadnt clicked on so far...lo and behold, there it is, password protect with a silver acct. I am also up and running over at blogger, but I am determined to make this one work, seems like a more close-knit community, more on a personal level than blogger. So, maybe will go ahead and get some beans into a paypal account and spring for the upgrade so that I can have a bit more control on how I would like this blog to be. Sigh, sadly there is a big part of me that is all about control! Thank you Dawnie, and Fighter, for the comments and tips on this baby blog, still really trying to figure out how it all works, how to add decoration, and still working on fleshing things out...gonna just keep playing for now! blessings on your day! |

My newest distraction...jumping on the blogging bandwagon. I have many distractions, some that consume me, some that are mere passing follies. I have to wonder....are my distractions in existence to enrich my life, to make it full and lush? Or...are they the essence of the definition of the word distraction, to move me away from the need for making painful decisions? hmm, the answer is...I dont know. For now though, the distractions are serving me well.
blessings on your day. |
