I've been keeping up with everybody else's blogs but my own. I overate and overdrank last night just when I was feeling pretty thin. Last week at martial arts, I was even able to get into my urban camo pants. I actually had nerve to wear the urban camo shirt with them and TUCK IT IN!!
I live in sweats and t-shirts, but when it comes to karate class, I go nuts! I don't even know why, but the best I can figure is that I love it so much that the joy gets expressed in different ways. Uniforms are optional for our school, so I decided to create my own. At first, I just wore black karate pants and a khaki green t-shirt as my trademark look. Then, I decided that I was going to go all out and really enjoy myself. I decided to get a pink gi. Nothing on ebay, hmm. I searched "pink" and "Karate uniform" on the web and found an article that said don't buy cheap uniforms because if you wash them with red clothes, you'll end up wearing pink. BUT THAT'S WHAT I WANTED....so I started dyeing white ones with great results. Tie-dyes and camoflauge are the mainstay of my wardrobe, although I have plenty of the standard gi uniforms. I used to dye them to match my belt, but I won't have to after green belt because they come in red and blue. I won't worry about brown now! And when I'm a black belt, I figure I can wear anything I want. I may trot out some of my old 'uniforms' and do a tribute to a different belt every week.
Here is my favorite fall uniform that I was only able to squeeze into once and even then, I
couldn't do much because I was pretty immobile and couldn't get my pants closed at all. It was well worth it!

This is one I call elegant, yet understated and best suited for evenings. It's what I wear when I want to make a statement without calling much attention to myself! I love that the pants look tie-dyed and they have the old Century logo!
