Woke up in the middle of the night because the dog was peeing on the carpet. Woke up at 6, dog is standing peeing in the bed! Dog won't eat. Call vet because Arie had these exact charming symptoms in Oct. Leave at 9:00 for vet, return at 12:00. I saw the absolute saddest thing. Don't read this if you don't want a good cry. There was a man picking out what sounded like a photo package. Cost $246, $300 something total. Turns out, he was ordering a memorial for his 13 yr. old dog, who was still prancing at his side at the time. I didn't know what was going on until I saw him crying. A woman came in to be with him. I started to cry. I thought I was still able to hide it, but the woman offered me kleenex and asked if I was facing a bad situation. I said I didn't know, indicated towards the man and the dog, mumbled 'been there' and kept crying. My parents were already over, good thing because it's a long time for my kids to be alone. They haven't been over in awhile. Later, I thought of a piece of paper from an ad for a bird (like we really need one). The bird/cage looked great. Talked to the husband/son (daughter at friend's house). Called the number. Went over there. Ended up buying the bird! She is fabulous. A sun conure parrot that is so tame. I feel guilty, they went through a lot researching them, finding a breeder, raising/loving her. They sold her because the mom-in-law is sick and maybe coming to live with them. They even have a 10. yr. old girl. I felt so sad for her, but these people were determined to sell the bird. I saw the ads they were to distribute/newspaper ads, etc. Someone else would have bought her. Her name is Mango. She was hatched on Dec. 6, 2004. It cost $600 total, but it came with a huge huge cage on casters, about 10 magazines, four conure books, cagetop gym, toys, food, everything. She even had a local bird vet receipt detailing the tests she had, dna report declaring her female, etc. I can't believe it. Now, I just have to keep Juice and Liberty from eating her!! They co-exist with guinea pigs in a cage, they should be able to adjust. I hope!!
