I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to stand it anymore. A Libertyville, Il dentist runs an ad on WGN, the radio station to which I listen often. His gimmick is that he works with sedation. HOWEVER, he plays this melodramtic sappy background music and says things like, "With the miracle of sedation dentistry.....", and "I give them a small pill to sedate them". Come on! Sedation dentistry is probably a fine service for the select population that needs it, but a "miracle"? Don't think so. And the word "small" is supposed to make us think, "a SMALL pill...well that sounds harmless! How bad could a SMALL pill be?" Size has nothing to do with the power/concentration of drugs! Oh brother!
Some of the commercials feature a pleasant female voice-over saying something like, "Smiling bonds us to those around us". Trouble is, it sounds like she's saying it through clenched teeth. What's going on? Is she one of the patients? Why can't she open her mouth long enough to do the commercial?
