I always remember a scene from a Monkees episode. They were being held prisoner and suddenly their captor announced, "I've just had a five minute-before-the-end-of -show-change of heart!! You can all go free!! It's true..half-hour shows usually have to resolve their issues in a short period of time, so the ending sometimes seems unrealistic. Nothing is coming to an end for me, but with that big exception, my instructor had a huge change of? heart!!!

He called me on Saturday to get my input (great sign) on some decisions he made (usually means I'm getting tossed).? He is going to hold an adult class both days to get us out of the kids class. Some other people want to join, but I did remind him that people are all gung-ho until there is an actual date and time, then they come up with scores of reasons.

He is going to have my husband and come to help with the kids' class, soon to be our former time slot!!! Even help with the moves, not just?supervise for safety.?While helping with the moves?is a big thrill and know I can help, I've always told?him?and meant it..that I'd be thrilled to come and scrub the mats if that's what needed doing. ?Brief history: I did? help for a whole year. I moved equipment, I stayed in the background, I worked and worked and worked with those kids. But, a year ago, I was tossed for 'not getting along with people' because I would stop Jay and James from teaching the moves incorrectly......I mean they were making HUGE mistakes, not just little picky things. He wants the moves taught correctly, but wanted me to tell him about errors in private. I'd feel like such a tattle tale and the kids would already have learned the moves incorrectly.  Needless to say, I was crushed to death. Shawn is a forgiving person, usually to a fault (which is why he kept taking Jay back time after time even though he made no attempt to improve his technique or his judgement) so I always hoped I'd come back, and he even said so from time to time, but things change.

Now all we need is some more people! Last night he re-confirmed his intentions. He pretty much made it clear that having the adult class is not dependent on having a certain number of students!!!? He also said that since we are coming to help with that class, he would work with us free of charge (not necessary!) on those moves on the side.
