It has come to my attention that people googling "Dennis Hale" have been finding their way to my humble blog. After reading about his ordeal, he has become my ultimate hero, I have written about him in here that's for sure. I had the honor and pleasure of meeting him and hearing him speak on Nov. 25th at the ceremony commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Daniel J. Morrell sinking. He struck me as someone who is easy going, happy, friendly, and funny. When he speaks of his lost crew mates and his 38 hour ordeal on the life raft on freezing lake Huron, the pain is still evident. 40 years later he is still dutifully paying his respects to them. How many people would be that loyal and devoted? I am glad that the Chicago Tribune printed the huge article on page 3 and that they have an incredible on-line slide show. Incidentally, the photographer was the only Trib member in attendance. She is from Rogers City (or thereabouts), where the ceremony was held in the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum. Even more of a wonder, she proudly showed me her grandfather's picture and profile; he was a survivor of the Cedarville sinking! Dennis is a great speaker, which is amazing considering that his early career path had nothing to do with public speaking or even the public. He's a natural. He's definitely the most incredible human being I've ever met. I am that much richer for having heard the story of how he triumphed over incredible obstacles in his life before, during, and after the catastrophe. He acknowledged that I am his number 1 fan in the world and I intend to keep living the part by, for example, making his story available to as many people. I have another blog with much more information, but I'm not sure you can search it. Here it is. Please contact me if I can provide you with any other sources of information on Dennis Hale.

And yes, I> am satisfied with my blog's new look, but since JournalHome indicated he had trouble reading a certain font I used with FireFox, I am asking around just to be sure.
