A lady wrote about a movie about a lady with seven children, most of whom had some sort of autistic disorder.
I couldn't find the place to comment, so I decided to post about it. I often hear a radio ad promoting blood donation, in which a mother says that both her kids needed blood transfusions within hours of birth and continue to need blood products. My point is that if people have a child with problems and the odds are that any other children they have will probably have problems too, why do they keep having them? I think I heard this topic on the radio. I also read medical journals for a living and I see articles about severe genetic disorders, and they will show a number of affected members from the same family to show the manifestations and physical characteristics. I just don't get it. These disorders are not cool, they are not trendy. Why people knowingly bring children into this world who are very likely to have serious, chonic problems is beyond me. They produce individuals who have a very hard time fighting for scarce resources and a very hard time finding a place in this world. The families are faced with unique, tremendous stresses 24/7; any unaffected children cannot have a normal childhood. I just don't get it.
