Today is the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975 in Lake Superior. All on board were killed and never recovered. The cause remains a mystery. My son and I are planning to go again this year to the memorial ceremony for the Daniel J. Morrell crew members, one of which survived. Since I'm lucky enough to be able to make it again this year, I am going to ask him the one question I regretted forgetting to ask, "What brought down the Fitzgerald?" I know he knows.
