I am trying to keep up with the blogging every day for a year NaBloPoMo thingy. Several times today I logged onto JH with a few ideas for a post, scrolled down the list of current entries, stopped to read, stopped to comment....had to leave the computer. This is great! Many new (real) people, not just people copying stuff that we've all heard a million times just to make money. People start blogs on JH year round, but it seems we always get a bunch of new members after New Years. I sure hope that new people sign up, stay around, and interact with other JH bloggers. I've seen some familiar faces who (funny way to refer to people I've never seen) have come back. I had a l-o-n-g abscence last fall but it's always fun and easy to get back in the swing of things. I love JournalHome!! So, if any newcomers are reading this, WELCOME!! YOU"VE PICKED A GREAT BLOG HOST, not only for the technical features and support, but as Celticlullaby (isn't that just a dreamy id?) said, JH is a community. I have no authority at JH, I'm just a blogger like you. I have nothing against people who just want a place to journal without interating with others. But hey, you could do that on your word processor. There are reasons that people put their stuff online. To me, it's a two-fold advantage. 1) The overwhelming odds are that you will never meet these people so they can't do any damage to you if they hate your opinions, etc. 2) You can "meet" some wonderful people that you never would have met in your every day offline life. Some people say that spending time on the internet leaves people lonely and isolated. NOT ME! I love my internet friends. If only for the simple reasons that...they don't call me at 9:00 on a day when I was just settling on the couch with the family to watch a movie. They don't insist that we go out to lunch when I've just started a diet. They don't show up when the house is a total wreck (when isn't it?) and leave me scrambling. OK, I'm getting off of my soapbox now.
