I'M GETTING A KIA!!!

It's really going to happen. I am thrilled beyond belief. I want it now. I can't wait. I want to hug it. I want to have a blast driving it.

Sure, it's not a Porche or Mercedes; and it is surely a step down from the Honda Accord that I currently own, but I honestly believe that this car matches my hand-eye-coordination, the way my brain perceives motion, distance, spatial relations. I'm kind of winging it on the psycho/neuro explanation, but I love that car. I sure wasn't happy in Michigan when I found out that that was the car they were renting to us. It was small sedan and it slid all over. Every minute on the road was terrifying. Yet I came back obsessed with them. I am getting a mini SUV, Sportage. The Honda is wonderful, but it is sliding around like any car does. We've been hit unbelievably hard this winter and my nerves are shot. Test drove the Sportage yesterday to make sure I wasn't remembering things incorrectly. Same Kia. Strange, when I actually drove it smoother than my husband, although granted I only took it on quiet side streets. There was snow on the ground. He couldn't believe that the Honda was sliding on what little was on the ground; good thing he experienced it first hand. The Kia did not slide at all. To our AMAZEMENT, we found out that the 4 wheel drive wasn't EVEN ENGAGED!! 

So, maybe my automobile soul mate isn't a Lamborghini. I am going to LOVE my KIA!

Note: If you take a test drive, try to refrain from glowing and exclaiming, "Isn't it wonderful?", every five seconds. 

The only problems with the Kia that I forsee: I am going to call it "Ikea" like the store one of these days. Of course if I announce to people before hand that I am probably going to make the gaff of calling it an Ikea, and I do, then the embarrassment factor has been completely taken away. Funny how that works.

Now if I can only convince my mind and my foot that it is ok to go over 10 mph when it gets bad out.
