Me again. So, I'm in this dog run and this lady and her son came in to see another dog. They asked to take Jiggs out and right away she commented on how much dog he was. Why do humans use that expression? The attendant picked up on that right away but they went outside anyway. I later overheard what happened outside. They were gone for what seemed like hours. I knew he had found a home. A bunch of other people came in. More people came in that morning than they had all day at my last shelter. Some looked at a treeing coonhound. A lady and her elderly mother looked at Heidi, who looked like a miniature chow. Then an attendant came in and came to my run. I thought I was going for some exercise like they do in prison yards, ha! She took me out to a huge fenced yard, and handed my leash to the lady I had seen earlier!  She had another dog with her that I hadn't seen in the shelter. The dog was a bit bigger tham me and was not paying much attention to anything because it was busy sniffing. It was a girl like me and it's name is Juice, if you can believe it. We sniffed at each other and wagged our tails a bit, but the dog kept sniffing. There were some chickens outside the fence. The lady thought it was funny that she had thought they were turkeys. The two seemed to get a charge out of their presence. There were some horses in a field across the street and a deer who had been orphaned a long time ago in a yard next to the one I was in. Like I said, it was a huge yard so I never got anywhere near the deer. Our runs actually opened up to the yard, but I had never been let out there since I was brought to the place the evening before. The lady seemed to like me. Turns out that Jiggs had been WAY too strong and wild for her. The son was pretty upset and she tried to explain over and over what horrible things could happen if Jiggs and their other two started running wild in the house, etc.  She just kept saying, "I can't control him".  All of a sudden, the boy decided that they should take me! Just like that! The only problem was that they didn't take checks anymore. They agreed to hold me until she came back! A half hour later and a bit of paper work later, and we were on our way. The boy had been pretty upset I understand. Cried the whole way home and almost didn't make the trip back. I was sure I could win him over. I was on my way to start my new life.

So, you don't have time to blog yourself, so you let others do it for you... Your children, your dog... Shame on you;-).
