4/26/2008 - Pet Peeve of the Day

Why must reputable (cnn, abc/nbc major market local affiliates) online news services only have some stories covered with videos? I want to click onto a headline and read the story for about five seconds.  If the coverage is only available via video clip, I click on the headline, wait ten seconds for it to load, watch a comercial for 30 seconds, watch a few seconds of  intro material, adjust the volume because of the static, and then find out that it's only fluff and adds no info to the story. :(

I couldn't agree more. All those video clips on the net these days, most people either have computers that are not powerful enough, or they are accessing the internet from work and can't have the sound on anyway...what's wrong with good old printed news, that we can all read on the sly in work time?
