The guys at Microsoft flight have released a list of the hardware they are developing under.
This is the machine with low graphic settings.
CPU: Dual Core 2.0 GHz GPU: 256 MB card capable of shader 3.0 (DX 9.0c compliant) HD: 10 GB Hard Drive space OS: WinXP SP3 RAM: 2.0GB
And the one on high settings.
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 960 @ 3.20GHz, AMD® Phenom™ II X6 1100T 3.3 GHz or better GPU: ATI Radeon™ HD 5870, NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 560 or better HD: 10 GB Hard Drive space OS: Windows 7 64-bit RAM: 6GB
I have 4Gb but otherwise I should be ok with the ‘high’ settings. My motherboard can handle more memory anyway, so I could be tempted to buy more if need be.
In all fairness I think it is a pretty fair machine, not too exceptional.
Do you guys have a beast big enough to handle the new game simulator?
Have a look at the low/high picture, http://www.microsoft.com/games/flight/#news-performance_hardware, does anybody see a big difference between that and FSX?
