In a recent interview with President Bush NBC's David Gregory was discussing Bush's low approval ratings, Bush blamed it on the Iraq war and Bush said "we have a recipe for victory in Iraq".....oh really? President Bush did you not say at an earlier date that you were going to leave the mess in Iraq to "future Presidents" if thats the case, how can you contradict yourself, to David Gregory with your "we have a recipe for victory in Iraq" soundbite.
Why David Gregory did not follow up on that soundbite and ask Mr President just what is your recipe for victory in Iraq? It just shows how complicit the media is with the Bush admin.its either pure kissing up for perferred interview status or they actually are apologists for Bush and his policies and its nausiating.
The media has seemed to lose its way, how can you justify a media that treats Karl Rove as a genius? the fact is that Rove is nothing more than a criminal mischief maker that cut his teeth in "Watergate" and was mentored by none other than Donald H. Segretti of Watergate fame. Rove is a failed acedemic attending three colleges graduating none, with zero degrees. Rove went to work for Nixon's campaign, as a dirty trickster, along with Segretti, then to the attention George Bush the elder, then CIA director putting the criminal mischief maker on a path that led to where he is today. Its no accident that Rove was one of Nixon's moles, using techniques developed by his mentor Donald Segretti, Rove infiltrated Democratic organizations on behalf of Nixon's infamous 1972 campaign. Rove's criminal mischief making came to the attention of Bush the elder and the rest is history. In 1986, Rove, by then in Texas, announced that his office had been bugged by Democrats during a gubernatorial race. The accusation, which spurred an FBI investigation, never panned out, leading some critics to charge that Rove had bugged his own phone. In 2000, during the lead up to the South Carolina primary, a reporter claimed that Rove was behind the “push polls” and whisper campaigns alleging that John McCain had fathered an illegitimate black child. Proof never emerged to fully substantiate the reporter’s claim.
This pattern of alleged dirty tricks continued into George Bush’s first term in office, when Rove was accused of leaking the identity of retired ambassador Joseph Wilson’s wife, a CIA operative, to a prominent journalist. During the 2004 presidential campaign, Rove was accused of being connected to the Swift Boat veterans whose effort to denigrate John Kerry’s Vietnam record, which seem cribbed directly from the “Rovian” playbook, took center stage during the lead up to the election.
Hopefully Rove's days are numbered and he will wind up where other Nixon criminal alumni wound up and thats the "greybar hotel" The question we must ask ourselves is.....what happened to the media its morals, values and investigative journalistic ability from Watergate to the present?
