Well I noticed some people in the blogosphere support Hillary Clinton for President, I hate to burst your bubble but I will go out on a limb and say she won't run in 2008... and even if she chose to run she may very well win her party's nomination but lose huge in the general election, perhaps worse than Walter Mondale...most likely her opponent will be Senator McCain. Lets examine the situation, what southern state can Hillary win...AL...no...AR...no...FL...no...GA...no LA...very slight possibility...NC SC...no...OK...no...TX...no way...VA...no...TN...no, I just at this point in time see any southern state Hillary can win. Evangelicals hate Hillary with a passion and on top of that she is polarizing She lacks the charm and lovability of her husband Bill Clinton and I personally believe she lacks the political skills her husband is blessed with ...she'll face sexist discrimination in the south, they will not like her views on abortion and if you cannot pick off 1-2 southern states of the republican base... a democrat cannot win a national presidential election.
Add to the fact that McCain will most likely cut into Hillary's support in the north and pick off some northern blue states and have more appeal to independents, my guess is, he most likely will be very competitive in California, on top of all that McCain is a "media darling" the media loves him, he comes off warm and friendly, and if those two square off in a debate McCain wins on charm alone. Lets face facts here, Hillary is basically a media invention. To be honest, my personal opinion is that there is a better Democratic woman they could nominate, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, I think she is better qualified to be president, she comes off on camera better than Hillary does, she is nowhere near as polarizing as Hillary is, she's California's most popular politician, she serves on the powerful Armed Forces Committee and Intelligence Committee, and it will be difficult for the pubs to tag her with the cut and run moniker, plus I see her being more appealing to the south and independents than Hillary.
In any event I seriously doubt Hillary will run, the risk is too great for her to lose, and her political career will be greatly diminished if she loses, I suspect that if the democrats take the majority in the senate it will weigh heavily on her mind that she can have a very distinguished career in the senate and easily win senate majority leader if she chooses to run for that post and have great influence, especially if we have a democratic president in 2008...Its something for her to give serious thought to.
