I want to apologize for being away so long mostly due to a severe bout of depression and partly due to the Holiday season, but I am back to blogging now and miss my fellow bloggers very much, and it feels great to be back!
The other day I was web surfing and came across a vintage Sonny & Cher video that brought back old memories to me, as since I was a child I was and still am a huge fan of Cher, in their heyday when I was a little girl it was all the rage to sneak mom's mascara and arrange your hair ala cleopatra style and accentuate your eyes with the mascara much like Cleopatra, and sing all the Cher songs dress like Cher talk with the lisp like Cher, in those days it was so cool to be Cher.
I would always watch the Sonny & Cher Variety Show every week on television with my girlfriends and mimic all the songs she sang in the show. She always had this weekly skit she would do where Sonny would play a piano and Cher would lie on top singing "She was a camp, a scamp, and a bit of a tramp, she was a V-A-M-P - vamp! I just thought that it was so sexy and girly girl, I started signing it all over the place at school, going to and from school I actually got the nickname "Foxy Vampress" I actually was Cher! LOL I have always admired Cher because she managed to overcome the odds against her she wasnt the classic beauty but society's standards and yet despite that she was and is stunninly beautiful, she is the essence of femininity and used the inner beauty and talent she possessed to the best of her ability, and besides she will always have a special place in my heart as an owner of a beautiful Yorkshire Terrier which I have a huge family of.
Sonny And Cher were deeply in love in their old videos its so plainly visible as you can see they way Cher tugs on Sonny's hair and her facial expressions especially with her eyes a woman can pick up on that. Yes Sonny And Cher had their ups and downs in their relationship But the love was there, it was in their eyes and affection they had for each other and the love they showed for their daughter Chastity ,and yes Cher had affairs that were in my opinion by the fact that Cher's career was blossoming and she wanted to spread to other venues but Sonny wanted close control over her career and Cher rebelled with affairs right or wrong, I was heartbroken for weeks when they broke up eventually they both went on, in life, Sonny with a career in politics as a Representative (R) CA and Cher with an outstanding acting career and an Oscar winner for Best Actress in "Moonstruck"
In time i think Sonny eventually fell out of love with Cher at least in the romantic sense, but despite the numerous affairs and marriages by Cher, Sonny was her one true love, even at the eulogy Cher referred to him as "her Sonny" deeply emotional and teary eyed, not a doubt in my mind she still loved him. Glad to see you are feeling better and are back writing again. I was pretty young but I remember the Sonny and Cher show. I loved it. Thanks for bringing back happy memories.
I have suspeneded my blog site I may come back to it at a later date I am sorry that my blogs and site were not appreciated and lacked participation It just seems like my JH Colleagues have little interest in this format I have to devote my time and energy where it is appreciated It seems thats not the case here.
