"Imus In the Doghouse? MSNBC Suspends Imus Two Weeks...Imus on Right
Imus issued another apology for referring to members of Rutgers female Basketball team as "nappy-headed hos." which I find totally disgusting and racist, not to mention sexist and aniti women! My personal opinion is that Imus should be fired, and if he had any dignity or self respect he would spare NBC that action and voluntarily resign at 66 he is well beyond retirement age anyway.
When you compare his statement to those of Jimmy "The Greek" was ejected from the public eye in 1988 when,
on Martin Luther King's birthday, he said that blacks are better at sports
because of slave plantation breeding techniques. "During the slave
period, the slave owner would breed his big black with his big woman so
that he would have a big black kid-that's where it all started." and Al Campanis who said... "(Blacks) may not have some of the necessities to be, let's say, a field manager, or perhaps a general manager.in 1987 on ABC's "Nightline". They were fired or forced to resign in which their remarks were racist and bigoted but lacked the mean spiritedness of Imus' remark which was both racist and mean.
Even now Imus gave a half baked apology that appeared insincere with the disclaimer that "I am a good person" well well mr Imus good people do not make racist comments and when you make an apology Mr Imus you do not qualify it with a disclaimer, you make it unconditional, when you add a disclaimer to an apology it renders the apology as worthless. You need to grow up Mr Imus, right now your IQ matches your years on planet earth 66 years
It was only less than a year ago that Mr. Imus was ripping Mel Gibson for his anti semitic ramblings against the Jews what hypocrisy!
It seems all the elitist liberal hypocrites now are rushing to Mr Imus' defense, on Tucker Carlson's show Jonathan Alter said Imus was racist , yet should not be fired and will continue to appear on his program, "Mr. Plagiarism" Mike Barnicle also defended Mr Imus all reverberating the "Imus is a good person mantra, it just made me sick, you can make the same defense for both Al Campanis, and "Jimmy the Greek" both were good decent hard working people good in their fields yet both were fired or forced into resigning from their jobs and justifiably so. Its time for these organizations that employ or simulcast Mr Imus to stand up and show some moral courage, If Mr Imus is not to be fired than according to that standard Al Campanis and "Jimmy the Greek" should never have been fired. I fear that the only thing that will come of this may be rehab and a half baked contrition, because all the political elitists in politics and the media will defend him because they regard him as "one of their own" His racism has been going on for a long time and he has his little trolls that work for him doing his bidding on racism such as Bernard McGuirk his producer who is in charge of booking guests and also does impersonations on his show and he does them in negative ways, for example he impersonates well know African Americans such as Mayor Ray Naggin of New Orleans and Poet Maya Angelou all in racist negative stereotypes. he Insults Catholics with the sick "Cardinal Egan" routine that insults, mocks and blasphemes God, insults Catholics etc. I have my disagreements with them but I do it in a respectful way, and do not make a joke about it just to get ratings. Its painful watching these media elites defend him while they allowed "Jimmy The Greek" and Al Campanis to wither in the wind is there any equal justice? In any event I would love to get the opinions of Journal Home Bloggers and all visitors to express their opinions as I have expressed mine...Thank You
I have suspeneded my blog site I may come back to it at a later date I am sorry that my blogs and site were not appreciated and lacked participation It just seems like my JH Colleagues have little interest in this format I have to devote my time and energy where it is appreciated It seems thats not the case here.
