Tuesday, April 10, 2007 - The Lack Of Civility Men Have For Women: An Open Letter To All Female Bloggers At Jornal Home
Posted in My Everyday Life

I am deeply angy at the lack of respect and civility men have for women, it cuts all corners and all ethnicities it has become far too common for men to refer to women has "hos and bitches" whether its in rap music, the work place, entertainment, even the Imus show, this has become far to rampant and I am angry!

I encourage all women to stand up for their feminine dignity, to refuse to allow men to demean in any way if they call you ho or bitch then do whatever it takes if the proper course is to slap then do it, demand an apology do not back down until you get it,  we need so show solidarity with each other to forrn that "thin blue line" so to speak.

We all need to share that courage that passion and self respect for ourselves that Sally Field showed in the movie "Norma Rae" when she with all the odds against her rang that bell and urged her fellow workers to unionize for better wages. The point that I am trying to make is that each and every one of us has to display that same courage and valor and stand up to sexism men bashing and disrespecting us no matter where it may be and to share solidarity with our fellow sisters and NOT ever allow men to ever objectify whatsoever. Men just do not get it and as usual its up to us to educate them, just one more burden we have to bear

I'm glad to see you mention rap/hip hop music. While it is abhorrent what Imus said, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are hardly innocent of rascist and incendiary comments themselves. They are nothing more than extortionists who prey on the perceived "victim" status of the person offended.

I think Bill Maher (I can't believe I'm quoting him) said it best when he said if this is all that the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement have to worry about, then race relations in America, in the year 2007, is pretty darn good.

As far as my "strategy" for the War in Iraq I have already discussed that. And yes, we probably will have to keep some troop presence there for a long time. That is no different than from the past wars we have fought. We still have troops in Germany, we man the DMZ that separates North Korea from South Korea, no big deal. We have troops serving in over 40 countries right now.

Let me ask you something, if the War in Iraq is so horrible, if the conditions are so bad over there, then why, over the past 4 years, has the military set records for troop re-enlistment? Why are there too many stories to count of soldiers getting wounded, coming back to the States to get cared for, and then say they can't wait to get back over there? Sure, you're goinng to have your detractors, every war has those, but they are by far in the minority. The vast majority of our troops are disgusted with the liberal slant of the MSM, with their constant drumbeat of negativity. If the MSM would just occasionally report about the heroism and bravery of our soldiers and how that there is a lot of good being done over there, I think public opinion would not be where it is today.
