Google Gmail is for spammers only

Posted in Web Security

I am tired of all the spam from Google GMail accounts, 99.9% of GMail accounts are used by spammers only. I have to suspend 20-30 accounts a day that are almost exclusively GMail acounts. So from now on, if you want to create an account here, don't use GMail acounts, (and also don't ise 163.com accounts, they are just as bad, but fairly unknown).
I have tried to report spam accounts to GMail but obviously Google does not care about spam, I cannot even start to understand why they don't want to even try and help solve the problem, everybody knows that GMail accounts are now mostly for spammers only.
Maybe Google is happy with their growing reputation of been a spammer heaven.

A good search engine, no doubt they are. But the way they back spam kind of makes me wonder what Google is really trying to achieve.

Anyway, if you want an acount here, don't use Google GMail.

GMail

Darn! I was not aware of that. But, it certainly explains why I could not open my account with my Gmail.

So, my first comment is the op-ed version to an administrator's comment. May we disagree in
love:-)

I have always liked GMail; even though I have numerous dot coms and dot infos, I tend to go back to freebies like Gmail, Ymail and live so they can attract the spam and leave my dots pristene.

I am sure your point of view is different based on your volume of email, though. I guess one reason I tend to remain a fan of GMail is because Google offers so many features tied in with Gmail accounts.

Anyway, greetings from a newbie who finally created my account from: suzi@writeread.info . Rather appropriate, don't you think? May I thank you in advance for protecting us from spam.

PS: One more point of view from experience. I usually get spammed for something I signed up for. I have several dot whatevers, yahoos, etc that I abandoned and let the spammers have a hey day.

Removed 'ban'

I removed the ban on GMail, (and a few other email servers), I now have a robot that goes around and helps me check for spam :).

So a blanket ban is no longer really needed for now.
