Google Video support

Posted in News

What would a blog be without Google Video Support?

<googlevideo:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6218749265059742791>

It wouldn't be a JournalHome.com blog, that what it wouldn't be ;)

So, as with youtube support, be sure to add the proper tag as well as the url of the video as it is given by Google.

<googlevideo:http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6218749265059742791 width=425 height=350 >

  • <googlevideo:... followed by the path of the video as given by video.google.com. [required]

  • width= the width you would like it to be [optional].

  • height=the height you would like it to be [optional].

  • If you want to use the word <googlevideo:, just put a forwad slash, ('\'), in front of it.

 So, on this mild Saint Patrick's day I give you Google take on the mater.

Template editing

Sorry about that one, I was in the middle of changing things at the same time as you were.
All should be fine now...I hope.

Statistics

Dear FFMG--
The statistics counter seems to be messed up. One day it registered over 300 hits. It has been averaging between 150 and 230 but since the 13th (right after the 300+ surge) it has dropped below 50 most every day.
Also, it doesn't start counting on the right date until late in the afternoon (for example, today, the 19th, its 3:57 PDT and the counter hasn't even started counting for today). Anything you can do about this?
Were my stats for the last two months right or are they right now?
Thanks for any help.

Statistics

Dear Randy

The way I see it the stats are correct, (maybe there is a slow down in traffic, we often see it before holidays). I am seen a general slowdown over the whole site for the past few days, it does happen from time to time.

I was having some problem with the stats but they should normalize in the coming few days, stats are extremely resource intensive, (As I log everything for legal reasons), and I have to be careful on how to use them.
In almost all cases the problem is with the display, (how we get data out of the database).

Also, you must remember that the time we log from is Midnight to Midnight EST time, (this is where the server is).

I am monitoring it closely and I will let you all know if the stats problems are finally fixed.
