Import wordpress blogs.

Posted in News

A user asked me for the ability to import from wordpress blogs.
I actually wrote it a while ago and was testing it, so I guess now is as good a time as any. I will import comments, categories and entries.
I am still working on other formats, (RSS and JournalHome itself).
Contrary to popular belief I don't actually own a wordpress blog so it was not as straight forward as it seems to test.

To be fair to the other blog systems, I will release an export function to export all your blogs entries to XML, (in case you want to back up your system or something).
Let me know if you come accross anything.

Question

This might be a silly question, but I was just currious, what is the little + sign for. Right under where it says my blogs, and it has the link to my blog, and says how many entires and coments and such I have, next to my blog link there is this link with a + sign in brackets like [+] and I was just wondering what it did, I was afraid to click on it becasue I did not want to change or mess anything up.

the [+] sign

Don't worry, all it does is show more options under your weblog.
Currently I only added the 'import' option.

Because this is not a very common option it is normally hidden, unless you press the [+] sign.
As time goes by I will add more, less common, menu items that will help to personalize your weblog.

You need to have Java running on your browser for that.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any questions/problems.
