Away too long...
I cannot believe that I haven't written in such a long time. The days really slip away at the Inn when season hits. My next day off is June 11, and with a little bit of luck, that day will go away and it won't be until the end of the month that I have a day. Actually that's really okay. It's back to the old adage "Make hay while the sun shines!" We have been busy with guests, meetings, and work around the Inn. I've managed to finish 3 of the flower beds, which will leave 2 more. And that's just the garden in front of the gazebo. I still have the garden next to the McGinnis Room and the fountain to tend. RJ got the pump working today, Yea! $400 later, the fountain is shooting 20 feet into the air. It is so high now that it can be seen by the rooms on the second floor. I managed to get to Buffalo visit Aunt Arlene. She is having some work done on her house and invited me over as the house was being inspected. All went well and she is moving on to the next project. (Gee, sounds like me... one project after another!) I went out with RJ and friends to see Ironman. It is definitely worth seeing. Robert Downing, Jr. was great, the story line was interesting, and the diaglogue well done. Then I watched Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp. I really like him as an actor and he did not disappoint me in this one either. He is not a professional singer, but did a remarkable job in this musical. It certainly didn't hurt that I liked the story. It's based on The Barber of Serville. Good job, Johnny. We had a dinner meeting here this week. Those are tough days. I go all morning with breakfast and rooms to turn around and get back into the kitchen for dinner. Unfortunately, on that day I needed to pick up supplies, too, because of the holiday. It just got to be a long, crazy day. I crashed big time and got up early to take care of my guests who were leaving early. Tomorrow will be another early morning. My guests are all businessmen and need to out by 7:00 AM and we have more guests checking-in tomorrow afternoon. I have another meeting tomorrow so RJ will be left behind to check everyone in. Ah, and so the saga of the Innkeeper goes on. Now if I could add a little more time to my days, I think I might be able to keep up with my life.
