Fall is in the air

Today is the first day of Autumn and time to start planning for winter. I worked on my tinder box today. I took the branches and twigs that I collected from the tree RJ cut up the other day and manged to create a large enough tinder box to get us started when the nip in the air turns to snow on the ground. Although we heat the Inn with oil and natural gas, the "little" house is heated with wood and natural gas as a backup. I've started working in the basement of the Inn. There are boxes to be sorted, linens to be donated, and stuff to be thrown out that's been collecting dust. So the curb saw my old computer monitor and a lot of empty boxes. I gathered 2 garbage bags of towels and old sheets to take to the animal adoption agency tomorrow. RJ put the second coat of paint on the exterior of the Inn today. There is just a little bit that I will have to do because he can't fit his hand between the fence rails to reach the clapboard. I should be able to get to that tomorrow. I finished Darkly, Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsey. What a wonderful story! I just loved it! So of course, I immediately borrowed the second book in the series. So many books... so little time. I have some errands to run tomorrow so I think that will be done after breakfast. Tonight I have the cutest couple ever staying with me. They are celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary. I hope I will be as fortuante.
