Wednesday, September 24, 2008 - On The Move Again
Posted in Life at the Inn

I just finished my article for Good Life Magazine and I have to admit it was one of my more difficult articles to write. The topic was okay. It's just I don't think about what I do - I just do it. So when someone asks me how to do you make people feel welcomed into your home, I really had to think about it. First, I guess, I enjoy company and people in general so it's easy to entertain. I treat people like I would like to be treated if I was visiting someone. I was people to have the best experience ever and be sad to leave. And I have to admit, some of my guests are sad when it's time to leave. That's the sign of a good visit.
RJ is on the move again. He just got called to relieve a driver that's been out in the field (Gustave and Ike damage) for the last four weeks.  At least I know RJ won't be gone too long this time. He'll be home right before J's wedding in October, so I figure 3 weeks on the outside.  Today is he out there painting the Inn, working on that second coat of paint. She certainly does look beautiful.  After I take him to the airport and cook breakfast for my guests in the morning, I should be able to get in back and paint that one section that he can't reach.  Then it's back to the "little" house to finish cleaning and ironing.  There is an Agricultural Society Fair at the Genesee Country Village and Museum on Octdober 4 and 5.  I would like to enter a child's sweater. We'll see if I can get it finished within the next couple of days. It's going to ge a busy weekend again and I don't think I'll have a lot of time until Monday and Tuesday.  It's a really cute pattern. The cardigan has an owl pattern knitted right into the bodice.  When I finish, I'll take a picture and post it on the Blog.
I'm into the second Dexter book by Jeff Lindsay and loving it.  Easy, fun read.  I walked down to my local library the other day to check out what else is new. The Donnelly House in Mumford houses our local library.  Our selection is actually pretty good for a small library, but I can get anything I want from any of the Monroe llibraries through my branch. I picked up John Saul's new release Face of Fear abd Kathy Reichs' Devil's Bones. That should keep me busy for a while.
