Today is such a historic day! Congratulations to the American people for a spectacular turnout for change! RJ and I were out early this morning to vote - 7:00 AM. I brought a plate of Ghirardelli Chocolate Chip Cookies for the poll workers. Hey, a sugar fix never hurt anyone. I returned my library books on the walk home and we had a nice breakfast at home reading the newspaper. I managed to get a lot of my ironing finished, but I still have a few more pieces to do. I probably would have finished if I hadn't gone outside to stain the decking with RJ. Wow! Does the deck look great! The "tugboat" brown is rich in color and blends so well with the sage green clapboard. and white trim. He powerwashed the deck in back and I think we should be able to finish the staining or most of it. I think we will need to by another 5 gallons of stain. Fortunately, the weather has been in our favor, so outside work has been on the schedule. By the weekend, we should see cooler weather. By then I hope I have the rest of the leaves raked and bagged. Then I will turn my efforts inside. I have stenciling to do at the Inn, a basement to straighten, and a refrigerator to clean. It's that cleaning that needs to be done when we are not as busy. Rj and I bought beds for the dogs. Now we can't get Bentley off his bed. I swear it's the theraputic mattress that allows him to get a good sleep. He looks so funny stretched out. His paws are huge. I'm sure this new mattress will help support those big joints. Cooper's bed is a bit smaller, but he still likes sleeping by RJ. It was a good purchase from LLBean. I have a lot of editing to do with my book. I'm getting a lot of good submissions. I hope to be finished in January so I can submit it to my publisher and then I can get on with my own book. In the meantime, my article for Good Life Magazine was published. I've finished my holiday article and already submitted it. Time to move on to the next piece. |
