Friday, November 7, 2008 - The Doe
Posted in Life at the Inn

There was a doe in front of my house today. I was talking on the phone, well, I'm not sure I was exactly talking. I was a bit upset and really wanted to start yelling at the people and tell them to just fix the problem instead of creating havoc in my life. Instead I listened and explained my side of the story. Strangely enough, everyone agrees, but without the proper documentation, it doesn't matter, not one ioda.
As I looked out my kitchen window, this absolutely gorgeous doe walked out of the woods and continued right in front of my house. Her large brown eyes, ever on alert, waiting for something, but nothing happened. She strolled past by porch and kitchen window and continued up the driveway and across the street. Hmmmm... I wonder where she was going.

I live in a rural area of Kansas. There are several doe that come to munch on the chopped corn and sunflower seeds that I put out for our peacocks. This morning there was a big buck in the pasture, probably waiting for the girls to appear. I never see the bucks except during rutting season. Perhaps your little lady was looking out for her prince charming!
