Bentley and Cooper have been crated since they were puppies. They were put in crates when we were at work so they were safe and didn't create any damage. Surprisingly, they went into the them willingly. It was almost like they had a den to sleep in. Now Bentley is 150+ pounds Cooper is 65. The crates are the largest ones you can buy and they take up quite a bit of room. At our house in Arkansas, the crates were in the attached garage during the winter months and during the summer, the crates were in the "Jack-n-Jill" bathroom. Now their crates are in a storage room in the "little" house. RJ and I decided to buy dog beds and see if we could leave the dogs out at night since Bentley is getting so big. He looks so cramped in the crate. I know he's okay. He curls up in this little ball. That can't be comfortable! Now is stretches out on the dog bed, which is huge I might add, legs extended. You wouldn't believe how much more this dog sleeps! Cooper, on the other hand, is still attached to RJ. He will follow him everywhere and sleep at his feet until bedtime. Then he follows RJ in the bedroom and sleep on his dog bed at the foot of the bed. If I move the bed out of our bedroom, he will sleep at the foot of the bed on the rug. Go figure!
Now I have huge crates in the storage room, a massive dog bed next to the wood-burning stove, and a very large dog bed at the foot of my bed. So instead of making room, I've now added more clutter. I need a kennel!
