6/19/2010 - I Miss You God!! Psalms 137:4-6
I Miss You God!! Reference: Psalm 137:4-6 (NKJV) How shall we sing the Lord's song in a foreign land? 5 If I forget you, O, Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth" If I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy. Observation: The passion for being in the presence of God here is just amazing. Remembering Jerusalem is remembering what it is like to be near to God. How often do we forget, how often do we take it for granted. We "exile" ourselves by our sin, selfishness and simple busyness while God is constantly calling us home. May we be as passionate for the place of His presence as these exiles were for Jerusalem. Application/Confession: I am reading a book called "Prayer" and as I am reading it I can sense God calling me home. Calling me to that place where I am not simply praying--asking, but, instead, learning to live more and more of my life in His presence. I'm not sure I know how. I am sure I want to learn. PRAYER: I am so glad You give me both the desire and the means to approach You and live in Your presence. All I can bring to the table is my willingness to be willing. That very small gift I offer to You. Thank You for Your grace that makes it suffecient. |
