Paycheck to Paycheck or Living With Margins

Observation: Living paycheck to paycheck, isn't that the great American way? Solomon suggests that the wise spend less than they get. Before this last recession, the average person was acutally spending more than they got--and borrowing the rest from the home's equity. We all know how that turned out.
We need margins in our lives. We need to make sure, in every area, that we are not using up everything that we receive. So in our fianancial life: we need to live below our means. If we do so, then we can have the means to invite some luxury--but the change of lifestyle comes first.

Application/Confession: I am learning. I'm trying. It is not easy to spend less than you take in but I am committed to the process.

PRAYER: I believe You bless our storehouse--the place where we put our excess. I ask for your help to enlarge mine. I am looking for Your blessing on it.
