LIVING LIFE WITH INTEGRITY
REFERENCE: Psa. 101:2-8 I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. 3 I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. 4 I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. 5 I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.
6 I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. 7 I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. 8 My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.
Observation: So many good things here. To live a life of integrity, we should;
1. make sure our life "at home"--in private--is as right as our life in public
2. Watch what we allow ourselves to look at. In such a visual culture, it is so easy to violate this one.
3. We need to be very careful about who we let into our lives and who influences us.
4. We need to watch for those ideas--those philosophys that are perverse--bent, just a little off.
5. Our would is entertained by evil, we need to avoid it in ever way.
6. We need to look for the right kind of people to be our companions, friends--faithful, truthful people
Application/Confession: I need make sure that my life in private is as pure as my life in public. I need to watch what I look at and stay away from the pervasive temptation of this culture to look at a lot of simply nasty stuff. I need to look for faithful and truthful people to have as my closest friends. PRAYER: God, help me to guard my heart and mind. To keep a watch over my eyes and my friendships. I want to be as full of integrity in private as I am in public.
