Who's On First?

REFERENCE: Ps 104:1 Let all that I am praise the Lord.

Observation:  It is not enough to praise God with any single part of who we are. He wants us to praise Him with totallity of who we are. For some it is becomes a habit to praise God, to recognize His Lordship, with their minds but their actions don't line up. Others are by nature fairly moral and kind in thier actions but inside their own mind they are not praising God or loving people, they may be praising themselves for what good people they are.

The most important part of our being that God wants us to praise Him with is our hearts. Elsewhere He says, "they praise me with their mouths but their hearts are far from me." What do we love? What do our hearts cherish? What do we place the highest value on? If it is anything beside God then we are not praising Him as He would want us to.

Application/Confession: Does all that I am praise God? Not always. Too often, parts of me praise Him and parts of me bring disrepute to Him. My heart, my mind, my body, my emotions, my will, my money, my relationships ought to bring praise to God.

PRAYER: God, you know I love You. You also know that I do not always worship You with all that I am--but I want to. Please help me.
