GOD IS WATCHING US--NOT FROM A DISTANCE

REFERENCE: Heb. 4:12-13 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable

Observation: No one can ever think that there are things in their lives that God knows nothing about. In truth, God knows. In truth, we are accountable to him for everything we do. Not primarially to people, but to Him. Beyond that, the Word of God reveals these truths to us. We may be in denial. We may have great justifications for how we live and act, but if we consume God's Word and if we are open to letting it speak to us, it will reveal to us what we are really like so that we can change. It reveals not just our thoughts but our motivations as well. It is not just enough to do the right thing, God wants us to do the right thing for the right reason.

PRAYER:  God I need Your grace to live this way. Please help me to live knowing that You are watching.
