NATURAL HOLINESS

REFERENCE: Heb. 8:10 But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts.

Observation: It is natural, under the new covenant that Jesus made possible, for God's will--His law--to be written on our hearts. That means that it is natural for us to be right instead of wrong. Before they had to try to obey in their own power. Paul tells us that this approach never worked. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to change us and empower us. That is what Jesus came to offer.

Now it is natural for us to want to do right instead of wrong. Remember when we blame our sin nature, certainly it is there pushing us to sin, but there is another nature pushing us even more strongly to rightousness.

Application/Confession: When I really ask myself what I want to do, I know that I want to serve God and His Kingdom, I want to love and serve people in His name and I don't want to be caught up in sin. I can see how that is a natural part of my makeup now.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to live out who I really am inside. Help me to live out the "super" natural life that you have birthed inside of me.
