Joyful Integrity

REFERENCE: Psa. 119:1-3 Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. 2 Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. 3 They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.

Observation:  A person will be joyful when they live what they believe. A divided heart brings sadness and heaviness instead of joy. We were not made to live with a divided heart. It is simply not healthy.

Application/Confession: I am tempted by Satan to believe that joy is in indulging the flesh. God tells me quite the opposite--true joy is in knowing and obeying Him.

PRAYER: Dear Lord--please help me never to forget where real joy is. Remind me that sin, while pleasurable for a moment, wears me down, tears me up and wastes my soul. Obeying and knowing you brings joy and delight.
