Owned By God Himself

REFERENCE: I Peter 2:9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.

Observation: God has chosen us. He calls us priests because He has called us to minister to Him and to His people. We are a holy nation. He has set us apart for His purposes. And we are His "very own possesssion". What a thought; we are owned by God Himself.

Application/Confession: I have to remember that my life is not my own--I am possessed by God. He is not just my boss, He is my owner--I am His love, bond servant--His slave. If He is my boss, I get to decide if I want to continue to work for Him. If He is my owner the decision is His--I am bound to obey--not mine. I need to set my mind to think that way.

PRAYER: Lord, you are my owner. I do not have the choice whether to obey or not. I am owned fully by you and I need your help to live that way. Please Lord, strip me of my selfish pride that tries to take back control of my life from you. May I learn to fully obey as a love slave of yours.
