Sin Sick Souls

REFERENCE: I Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.

Observation:  Sinful desires not only lead me away from God, interfere with my relationships with others but also war against my soul. In other words, sinful desires mix up my mind, scramble my emotions and wreck havoc with my will and my peace.

Application/Confession: I must never forget, when tempted, that this sin I am comtemplating committing will bring termoil and destruction to my inner person. If I say yes to sin, I am also saying yes to anxiety, inner dissonance, sadness and confusion.

PRAYER:  Remind me Lord that you made me. You know what is good for my soul and what brings destruction. Please help me to remember when I want to give into my flesh and put my soul at risk.
