The Greed That Stole Christmas

REFERENCE: Prov.28:25 Greed causes fighting; trusting the Lord leads to prosperity.

Observation:  At Christmas time, it is important to know that greed can cause fighting. How many family squabbles are really, at their heart, about greed? We don't feel like we got our fair share of; fill-in-the-blank: presents, attention, love, deference.
When we think only of ourselves, we will often find ourselves fighting others to get what we think we should have been given and the whole holiday, that is supposed to be about love, giving and peace, ends in conflict and hurt.

Application/Confession: Especially at this season, I want to think about how to make others happy. I choose not to care about what I may or may not get but think alot about how to bless others this season.

PRAYER: God, convict me when I am being greedy. Gently remind me to trust in you instead.
